PE Kit and Days for Autumn 2022

11th July 2022

Dear parents and carers,

I wish to remind you of the Rounds Greens P.E. days and kit policy for Autumn Term 2022.

As per the positive parent feedback received in relation to children coming into school on PE Days with their PE kit on, we have decided to extend this until the Spring Term 2023.  Children will not be changing into their PE kit during the school day and will need to come into school with their PE kit on. This should be on their PE days only.

The children at Rounds Green agreed on the following colours:

Years 1 and 2:  Green unbranded t-shirt.

Years 3 and 4:  Red unbranded t-shirt.

Years 5 and 6:  Blue unbranded t-shirt.

These T-Shirts should be PLAIN and should not have patterns on. Additionally, the rest of the PE kit is navy or black unbranded jogging bottoms or leggings, a sweatshirt (NO HOODIE JUMPERS) and trainers. From September, we are politely requesting that this PE kit is followed and therefore please consider this when purchasing uniform for September.

Can I please politely request we all adhere to the PE dress code above as we have noticed that many children have started wearing patterned and branded PE kits.  As a school we want to make ensure the ‘PE Kit’ is inclusive for all and that the children look smart and are proud to wear their own chosen kits.  If by the end of the Autumn Term children are not adhering to the PE dress code, then unfortunately we will have to go back to getting changed in school.

For health and safety reasons please ensure the following:

  • Earrings must not be worn. If your child is unable to remove their earrings they should be removed before coming to school. In the event of a new piercing, the holes may be taped over but this must be done at home and there should be sufficient tape to prevent the ear piercing the bone behind the ear in the case of an accident.
  • Bracelets or bangles etc. worn for religious reasons must be covered over with a sweatband.
  • If your child has long hair (i.e. touching the shoulder) hair is to be tied back on PE days.
  • Your child will only be excused from P.E .for medical reasons if he/she brings in a note from yourself. As a general rule, if he/she is well enough to be in school they will be expected to take part.

PE Year Group Days:

Year 1:  Thursday and Friday.  Children in Year 1 will be learning Multi Sports (Invasion games) and Athletics.

Year 2:  Wednesday and Thursday.  Children in Year 2 will be learning Multi Sports (Invasion games) and Athletics.

Year 3:  Monday and Tuesday.  Children in Year 3 will be learning Tennis and Athletics.

Year 4:  Monday and Tuesday.  Children in Year 4 will be learning Tennis and Athletics.

Year 5:  Wednesday and Thursday.  Children in Year 5 will be learning Tennis and Athletics.

Year 6:  Wednesday (Swimming) and Friday, children will be learning Athletics.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. If you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to contact me via ‘Class Dojo’. I look forward to meeting you all at some point.

O. Holiday.
