At Rounds Green, our curriculum aims to provide a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning. We believe in the power of active, experiential education, a strong connection to the outdoor environment and the value of real-world experiences in building cultural capital.

We are committed to ensuring that our curriculum meets the needs of all children, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds. We adapt our practice and support to help every child reach their full potential.

Our curriculum aligns with the National Curriculum, but we strive to go beyond the minimum requirements. We aim to provide a rich and engaging learning experience that prepares children for future success.

EYFS

In the Foundation Stage, the weekly planning is linked to the interests of the children and incorporates activities that meet identified needs of individuals and groups. During the day the children have a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated learning opportunities. Numeracy and literacy skills are taught discretely through a cross-curricular approach both inside and outside; making use of the large outdoor area throughout the day in all weathers.
