Science
The intent for Science at Rounds Green Primary School is to cultivate students' natural curiosity and equip them with the skills and knowledge to confidently explore and understand the world around them. We aim to inspire the next generation of scientists by fostering a love for scientific inquiry and discovery.
At the heart of the Science curriculum is scientific investigation. Students are encouraged to learn through systematic investigations, asking scientific questions, and developing Working Scientifically skills. These skills are progressively developed to enable students to apply their scientific knowledge when using equipment, conducting experiments, and confidently exploring concepts. The curriculum emphasises the importance of scientific terminology and encourages students to question and be curious about their surroundings.
The teaching of Science at Rounds Green is designed to develop lively, inquiring minds and the ability to question. The curriculum aims to provide students with a stimulating environment where they can work in an investigative way and communicate their findings using various methods. We emphasise the importance of understanding and caring for the world in which we live and encourage students to make connections between Science and other areas of the curriculum.
